There is a fine line between genius and stupidity
The latest Sky Broadband advertises download speeds of up to 8 megabits(per second).
8 megabits(per second) equals 1 megabyte(per second), that's kind of the standard download speed of broadband nowadays, so long as your nearest town isn't three hundred miles away.
So, either Sky messed up the advert, or it's trying to sell something ordinary as something special.
P.S. At the last part of that final sentence I was going to say 'mutton dressed as lamb', when I checked on google whether the meaning was broad or specific one of the results returned numberous links to Carol Vorderman.

Hmm ... interesting. I get 8 MEG, but having checked on the webpage for my ISP (Orange, formerly Wanadoo), that's all it says - MEG. No mention of whether it's short for megabytes or megabits. Maybe we're all being taken for a bit of a mega-ride ...
Almost forgot, love the Carol Vorderman reference. My father used to use that phrase all the time. He'd probably use it about me now if he were still here to do so.
