Yup, another internet meme

So long 2006

1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
Went to university

2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Yup then no, and yup.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Only a friend's sister, to my knowledge.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope. Hopefully. Otherwise I'm going to feel baaaaaad.

5. What countries did you visit?
You could change that to counties and it wouldn't be very impressive.

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
A girl (awww or blarggggg you decide), a job, a general direction in life.

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
30th November. My emancipation.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I finally went ice skating.

9. What was your biggest failure?
The entire year was generally a black spot.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
First cold in three years. A bulging disk (bet you had to read that twice).

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Project X equipment.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My mum for listening to me moaning about university with unlimited patience.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
My own.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Commuting to university.

15. What events did you get really, really, really excited about?
Leaving university. It was such a relief, maybe I should blog about it sometime.

16. What song will always remind you of 2006?
It's a tie between Muse's 'Supermassive Blackhole' and Kasabian's 'Shoot the Runner'.

17. Compared to this time last year, you are
exactly the same.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Working.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Wasting time on the internet.

20. How will you spend Christmas?
Probably put it in the bank and fritter it away slowly.

21. Did you fall in love in 2006?
Nope.

22. What was your favourite TV programme?
Mythbusters. (Want a job like that. Someone comes up to me and says I want something that can do this. Then I'll disappear into a workshop for a week and come out with a shiny machine in my hand. But I don't know what that kind of thing is called so it makes it so much harder to find out how I should start down that road.)

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Don't think so.

24. What was the best book you read?
Simon Singh's 'The Code Book'.

25. What was your greatest musical discovery or rediscovery?
The Sweet and Led Zepplin

26. What did you want and get?
I wanted to get out of the house. I got it for two months.

27. What did you want and not get?
See (6) I guess.

28. What were your favourite films of this year?
Casino Royale!! Blew my mind!!

29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
19. I got a house full of friends.

30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
See (6).

31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
Pajama chic.

32. What kept you sane?
24/7 inside the same four walls is not a recipe for sanity.

33. What political issue stirred you the most?
The evolution vs intelligent design creationism bollocks.

34. Whom did you miss?
Friends, both close and far flung.

35. Who was the best new person you met?
A few nice people at university.

36. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006.
It's not a lesson from 2006 but one I hope proves true: "You don't need to go to university to be a success".
